The new release
The National Statistics Office of Vietnam’s release issued on 3 November reports that October 2026 consumer prices rose 0.20% from the previous month and 5.09% year on year. Average CPI over the first ten months rose 4.57% from the corresponding period of 2025.
Our editorial reading
CPI measures a broad consumer basket. It does not state the selling price of quicklime, burnt dolomite or hydrated lime. It also cannot confirm the freight cost for a particular destination. A material enquiry still needs its own specification, volume and delivery basis.
For procurement conversations, the useful discipline is to make assumptions visible. Keep the currency, named port, packing requirements and quotation validity together with the offered price. A change in one of those details can affect comparability without saying anything about the quality of the material.
What to put in the RFQ
- The product and target specification.
- Estimated quantity and packing preference.
- Destination port or receiving location.
- Requested shipment period and trade terms.
- The documents required for review.
