Industrial lime buying guide

Give technical, purchasing and logistics teams a common brief. Start with what is known and mark unconfirmed details for discussion.

01 / TECHNICAL APPROVAL

Agree what a passing material looks like.

Specification

Product and physical form; total or available assay; impurity limits; size or fineness; reactivity test and conditions.

Evidence

Ask for the offered specification, relevant COA and SDS. Identify the sample or batch, date, method and acceptance limits.

Trial

Define the evaluation quantity, receiving site, tests and approval criteria. Sample availability, cost and timing are agreed separately.

02 / SHIPMENT BRIEF

Compare offers on the same delivery basis.

Details to agree before approving an order
RFQ detailWhat to include
Quantity & order patternTrial amount, repeat tonnage and expected frequency. Published product pages show one-container starting references; confirm the actual order and load.
Packing & receivingBag size, liner, pallets, marking, unloading equipment and receiving restrictions.
Destination & trade termDestination country and named port or place. State the requested term and edition, such as Incoterms® 2020, for the quotation.
Schedule & documentsTarget shipment window, import documents and inspection requirements to be confirmed.
Commercial reviewCompare product, freight and relevant destination costs on the same scope. Agree payment terms, validity and acceptance conditions in the offer.
03 / IMPORTERS & DISTRIBUTORS

Bring your customer’s acceptance criteria.

For resale, specify the end-use grade and each destination separately. Add expected order frequency, packing and labelling requirements, documentation language and how your customer approves a new material.

Identify whether this is a first sample, a container trial or a repeat-supply discussion. An annual forecast helps planning; the actual grade, quantity, price and shipment dates still need an agreed quotation.

04 / NEXT STEPS

From brief to a supply decision.

  1. Send the brief. Share your existing specification or the RFQ template.
  2. Clarify the offer. Review the proposed grade, analysis, packing and delivery basis with our team.
  3. Complete your evaluation. Agree any sample or trial terms and apply your plant’s approval process.
  4. Confirm the order. Agree the commercial terms, documents and shipment schedule before proceeding.
